Course Registration Information
Please see our Course Schedules page for all of our regularly scheduled courses for the WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid and Emergency Medical Responder courses.
Group or corporate courses can be arranged as mutually convenient. We are quite flexible as to the scheduling of private classes. Contact us with your specific requirements.
All regularly scheduled course dates subject to change without notice. All courses subject to minimum registration requirements.
Final practical and written exams for all Occupational First Aid Level 2, 3 and EMR courses are, subject to confirmation during the course, held on the Monday following the end of the course. Exam dates will be confirmed as soon as practically possible during the course.
All course fees include textbooks and exam fees, except where noted. All courses offered by HeartSafe Emergency Medical Solutions Ltd.
To Register for an Occupational First Aid
Level 2 or 3 course:
1) To register on-line simply click on the Course Schedules link for the appropriate course, or use the pull-down menu from the Course Schedules link in the top menu.
2) Or print off the appropriate course registration sheet below (PDF) and return it by Fax (250-385-3209) or scan it and email it to us. We will confirm all registrations by email, Fax or phone.

3) Or you can register by phone 250-385-3223, 250-754-3225 or 1-877-503-2237 for any course. 4) For students whose employer is paying the tuition fee. Have your employer FAX the registration sheet to us or have them use the 'Register Online Now' link.

We accept VISA, Master Card and of course cheques and cash. Payment must be made in full prior to the start of the course in order to confirm a spot in the course.
Pre-Reading and Study
For most courses pre-reading is essential, so please make arrangements with us to get your textbooks prior to the course. Here are the links (PDF) to the Course Outline and Pre-Reading.
To Register for Occupational First Aid
Level 3 Re-Certification:
1) Students must supply a copy of their previous Occupational First Aid Level 3 certification at the time of registration.
2) Students who do not have a previous Occupational First Aid Level 3 certification but otherwise qualify to take the re-certification course must purchase the current course manuals at a cost of $75.00 plus shipping if required.
3) Students who do not meet the requirements above may be denied entry to the class of Instruction. OFA Level 3 Re-Certification.
4) A WorkSafe BC 'Statement of Fitness' is required. A complete WorkSafe BC course medical may be required by some students. For more details contact our office.
Prior to the start of the class students must complete the required course reading, homework and the entry exam. The entry exam must be completed and returned to HeartSafe EMS prior to the start of the class.

To Register for the Emergency Medical Responder course:
1) Print off the Registration sheets here:

Medical Certificate of Fitness
All students registering in the WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 2 and 3 courses and the Emergency Medical Responder course must complete a WorkSafe BC 'Statement of Fitness' prior to or during the course. Some students may be required to have a 'Medical Certificate of Fitness' completed by a Physician prior to issuance of their certificate. The completion of this 'Medical Certificate of Fitness' is dependant on the answers given by the student on the 'Statement of Fitness'.
The fee for the medical is the responsibility of the student.
We require the original completed Statement of Fitness and/or the Medical Certificate of Fitness in our office prior to the issuance of the actual WorkSafe BC OFA or EMR certificate.

Course Location
All our courses are held at The Comfort Inn (101 Island Highway), unless otherwise specified, which is located at the corner of Craigflower and Admirals. Lots of FREE parking on site!
Refund Policy
1) Cancellations must be received by HeartSafe EMS 48 hours (two business days) prior to the start of the course to receive a refund of the course fee paid. A full refund is dependent on the student returning any textbooks received in a useable/saleable condition otherwise a deduction will be made for the textbooks. Please note credit card refunds are subject to a deduction of 2.75% of the original transaction amount.
2) For cancellations received less than 48 hours (two business days) prior to the start of the course no refund will be issued but HeartSafe EMS may, at its sole discretion, apply the course fee paid to a future course.
3) For courses cancelled by HeartSafe EMS, for any reason, a full refund of all course fees paid will be made subject to the student returning the course textbooks (as noted above).
