Low Slope Training

CME Credited Course Offering


This 8 hour course provides the paramedic an introduction to rope rescue and covers the
basics of low slope rescue techniques at the awareness level. The structured step by step
teaching approach allows students to build skills using a hands on approach with up to
date equipment and techniques.


Course content includes:



  • Low slope situation recognition and size up skills.

  • Knot tying skills.

  • Belaying techniques.

  • Raising systems.

  • Patient packaging.

  • Litter attendant rigging.

  • Communication skills.


All techniques and equipment meet NFPA standards for technical rescue incidents.


Duration: one 8 hour day
Format: 4 hour morning classroom training. 4 hour afternoon field training.


Prerequisite: No previous training required however an enthusiasm for fun is an asset.
Equipment: None required but appropriate clothing for outside weather conditions is recommended.


Class size: minimum of 6 to a maximum of 12
