The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course is an entry-level Paramedic course that will prepare individuals for employment in a variety of pre-hospital, industrial and first responder settings. The EMR course is designed to provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills to be able to manage any medical and trauma related emergency.
This EMR Course is for the student who already holds a valid OFA-3 certification, and is recognized in both BC and Alberta.
Prerequisites: A current OFA 3 certification within the last 6 months. Minimum 16 years of age and course medical required.
HeartSafe EMS is now offering a one day course Hydrogen Sulfide Training for the Oil And Gas Industry, which is intended for all workers in the petroleum industry who may be exposed to environments where Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) is present.

As of March 2010 the Red Cross CPR And AED Course is a prerequisite for any student enrolling in an EMR Course.
