First Responder Course

This 40-hour advanced first aid course is for those who wish to become First Responders with a Fire Department. Often a pre-requisite for joining a fire department.


Topics covered: Part 1 - The Responder Part 2 - Establishing the Priorities of Care Part 3 - Injuries Part 4 - Medical Emergencies and Part 5 - Special Populations and Situations. Includes CPR HCP.

A 20 - hour recertification course is also available.


A 3 year certificate will be issued on successful completion. Examinations can also be done to for student's who wish to have a Emergency Medical Assistant (EMA) license at the First Responder Level. You do not have to be a member of a fire department to hold an EMA License.


Prerequisite: 16 years of age and a minimum CPR C or HCP certificate or equivalent.

Marine Advanced First Aid

Overview of First Aid & CPR techniques with scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry for individuals who need a basic training level in First Aid & CPR for the marine industry. The course develops skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for Adults, CPR Level A, and other topics including choking, airway and breathing emergencies and prevention of disease transmission.


3-year certification in Marine Advanced First Aid and First Responder, CPR Level HCP, and AED


Course length - 40 hours inclusive of rest breaks.
